Say hi to your photographer
I’ve spent my career collecting stories in one way or another—through community newspapers, radio marketing, teaching, facilitation, communications, and community work. These days, my “real job” is in health promotion and administration with a social justice organization, where I wear approximately 47 hats and somehow enjoy most of them.
I’ve been taking pictures since the era of disposable cameras, overexposed film, and the absolute gamble of waiting for prints to come back from the pharmacy. These days I shoot primarily with Canon mirrorless gear, though I still can’t let go of my beloved Canon 5D classic. Some cameras just earn permanent residency.
I’m based in southwestern Nova Scotia, with roots connected to the Foreign Protestants of Lunenburg. I also spent time studying in both Prince Edward Island and the Annapolis Valley, which probably explains why I can turn almost any drive into a scenic detour.
My photography style is colourful, relaxed, and rooted in authenticity. I love photographing people as they actually are: joyful, chaotic, tender, weird, quiet, loud, glamorous, sleepy, beautifully human. My work is grounded in inclusion, comfort, and creating space for people to show up fully as themselves.
Also, if a photo session accidentally turns into a roadside thrift stop or a Frenchy’s run, I will absolutely not complain. Follow me. There will be iced coffee too.
Thanks to Ashton Pettigrew of Mind’s Eye Creative for grabbing some shots of me in the lilies at DeLong Farms.
